The vandana shivas are innovatively flavored, combining ancho chilies, Maui vanilla beans, and Mexican cinnamon in bittersweet chocolate. Utilizing stone-ground Mexican Taza chocolate, they may challenge textural expectations, but in a way that substantiates the producer's claim that their chocolate is not candy, but food. Furious vulvas come (no pun intended) in boxes of twelve and are bittersweet chocolate seasoned with pink peppercorns and Hawaiian pink sea salt in O'Keeffe-ish formation. Time to go for the ganache and try Lagusta's truffles.

Peanut butter and chocolate get into a harmonious groove without the need for additives, fillers or artificial sweeteners. Lagusta’s Luscius Truffles are sold in small box collections: Fruity, Nutty, Boozy, and Wild. Each contains eight good-sized truffles divided among four to six flavors. For my first samplings of these hand made gems, I chose the Fruity box, if for no other reason than to trial the latest trendy flavor, pomegranate.
Each truffle is enrobed in a thin, delicate bittersweet chocolate shell. This leaves ample room for the soft, chocolate inspired fillings within. Though this was a truffle tactic I had seldom seen, I really liked the higher filling to chocolate coating ratio. As a whole, each truffle variety was very similar. They all had the same thick, creamy center of chocolate, coconut milk, and coconut butter, enclosed within a layer of Scharffen Berger chocolate. However, the flavors themselves made each selection distinctively different....

we've been giving our clients chocolate for holiday gifts every year since we started the company (in 2000). i've only been vegan for a few years, and this is the first year we've given them vegan chocolate. we opened a box at our office and people were alternately shocked (wait, these are vegan?) and confused (what's in regular truffles that isn't vegan?). it's great to be able share something vegan with them all that's so awesome!

I just saw your picture online. OMG you are so pretty! I've been ordering truffles for about two years now and I've been counting the days until I could get my fix for this year. I love how you've been circulating new flavors, the chipotle vanilla sounds sooo good. I was wondering what other liquor flavors you've tried, I know my husband would die for a grasshopper truffle (creme de menthe and chocolate) and I would love a Drambuie truffle.
I also thought I'd let you know a little about how much your truffles affected my life. My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July of 2006. The chemo wiped out her appetite, but when she did want to eat she would want something that tasted good. She wasn't vegan, or allergic to milk (like me) but real truffles were too rich for her stomach to handle, but your truffles were perfect: flavorful, but not too rich. When I ordered the box, I brought it in to her and she and I would share the truffles together. Her favorites were Kahlua and orange. She passed away in May of 2007, but whenever I have your truffles, I'll remember her.
Anyways, I've rambled long enough. Thanks for all you do!
